Academic Information: Rhaya transitioned to a new school this year and achieved straight As on her first quarter report card at Meadowdale Middle School.
Academic Achievements: Rhaya has maintained high honor roll over her middle school career.
Future Academic Goals: Rhaya hopes to continue earning high merits through high school and attend college. Her goal is to study psychology to become a child psychologist.

Community Service or Volunteer Awards: Rhaya is a lead member of Meadowdale Middle School's National Junior Honor Society and leads the club in volunteer hours. She also volunteers for learn to skate classes for new hockey players when she is not on the ice herself.

Rhaya Nestor Hockey Debut: Following in her dad's footsteps, Rhaya laced up her skates for the first time in 2014. Other Sports: Lacrosse, Volleyball, and Golf Rhaya is a tough competitor and strong leader on the ice. Her teammates have selected her as the alternate captain for the past two seasons stating that she has a strong passion for the game, a kind demeanor in the locker room, and an ear to listen whenever they need advice on and off the ice.
Rhaya is incredibly driven and has a strong passion for the game of hockey. Her work ethic, determination, and dedication to the sport have helped her achieve a strong foundation to build off of in the game. Though she can be considered a perfectionist in many aspects of her life, Rhaya does not let that slow her down when it comes to hockey. Instead, she uses that strength to push herself harder and takes each mistake made and coaches critique as a learning experience to get better. Rhaya takes great pride in the fact that coaches have always praised her for her strong leadership and coachability.
Short- Term: Rhaya achieved her short term goal this season being voted into the alternate captain position in a new organization. With that in mind, she has created a new goal of making an elite spring team on either the East or West coast.
Long- Term Goal: Rhaya's long-term goal is to be accepted into a preparatory high school that has a strong hockey team. She hopes to make the varsity team and pursue a college hockey career. Her ultimate goal is to wear the red, white, and blue jersey one day while representing the United States in the Olympic games.
Rhaya is a disciplined defender who has honed in on her skating skills, particularly good balance, creating a low center of gravity and having a wide base. She has extremely strong edge skills and is able to achieve top velocity quickly to rush the puck and back check. She has a keen sense of the game happening around her, is able to see the ice, and in turn has great hockey IQ. Rhaya has been working hard to be more physical and that aspect of the game is improving quickly as she transitions from Forward to Defense this season.
While not on the ice, Rhaya loves playing lacrosse, has a love hate relationship with her golf clubs, and enjoys a good game of volleyball. She is a huge Boston Bruins and Seattle Kraken fan. She loves spending summers at the lake house, paddleboarding, swimming, and boating. Rhaya also loves to read. Once she opens a book, it is often hard to get her to put it down.
